Engagement Announcement

Good Morning Snider Family,

I am sitting here at Valerie & Paul's house after attending church services with them this morning. It has been great catching up with them after a busy couple of months on the road. The big news is that Lisa and I are engaged! We were fortunate enough to spend four days in Aspen, Colorado, at the end of November. While we knew that we were meant for each other, I hadn't officially asked the question. The topic had come up several times with friends asking about it over the past few weeks. On our last day in Aspen while we were packing, Lisa and I stopped what we were doing and held each other. After a few minutes, I knew that it was time for me to propose. Lisa, without me knowing, had been praying for God to show her that I really was the one for her. God responded by giving me the courage to go down on one knee and ask for her to marry me.

To be honest, until recently I had a hard time accepting the idea of God. It never made sense to me based on the logic of the world that I saw around me. Lisa has always been very full of faith (which is one of the things that attracted me to her) and we have spent much time discussing the topic. What I have come to realize through my relationship with Lisa and our experiences at the church we started attending in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, (when I am back there) is that logic is grounded in this world and that you have to let go of it in order to begin to understand the power of God. In spite of beginning to arrive at this understanding, I still needed "proof." When Lisa told me after I had proposed that she had "put God on the spot," so to speak, and He responded, that was proof enough for me. While I still have many questions, I now know that with God all things are possible, even helping a skeptic like me to see the light.

We will be getting married with the holy spirit on December 23rd (yes, in two weeks) at our church in Wisconsin. Then, after we have saved up enough and things settle down (i.e. we live in the same country) we will have a large celebration/ceremony that everyone will be invited to. It will either be this summer or next. More details to come. . .

Congratulations, you two! Thanks for sharing your announcement and your heart with us, Jeremiah. Actually, Lisa will be 210, I believe. Sandi (Snider) Bichard's daughter, Jenny, was married in October, apparently. I was hoping that they would announce it on the blog, but we are still waiting. I hope your wedding is beautiful. Much happiness to both of you.Heather

Jeremiah and Lisa, we are thrilled about your engagement and upcoming marriage, particularly because both of you have sought God’s leading and direction in this matter. We appreciated getting to know you Jeremiah at the reunion and when you were at our place last summer. We also were happy to meet you Lisa at the reunion and look forward to getting to know you better in the years to come. Thank you for helping Jeremiah is his faith journey so far and look forward to seeing his growth as he continues on his spiritual quest. We look forward to attending your celebration whenever and wherever it may be held. Our love and best wishes, Carol and Al.

Jeremiah,

Thanks alot for letting your uncle in on the plans - I had to read it on the blog! You do realize that now I'll have to get you a Christmas(25th), Birthday(28th), and Anniversary(23rd) present within 6 days every year?

I'm just kidding - I wish you and Lisa the very best, and God bless both of you. See you soon.
