Hi Snider Family
As Doug and I started the near 3 hour drive to our Ranch we began talking about the reunion, especially our participation in the "newlywed game"! As many of you know, Doug is a member of the Vancouver Police Mounted Squad. We certainly had to laugh, as Reg mentioned, on our tour of the Capone tunnels, that Doug in fact does wear big tall riding boots, big poofy pants and steers a horse around Stanley Park. Not exactly scary or frightening to criminals. However, what many of you aren't aware of is that Doug also has another role at the Vancouver Police. He is also on the Hostage Negotiator team. He has undergone years of specialized training to hone his psychological and persuasive skills.
Having said all that and after much "discussion" I would hereby like to AMEND some of MY answers given, under duress, during the newlywed game.....
1. Lucky Charms - enough said
2. 25% (or more) - Doug's participation in cleaning (and he wants you to know he does some of his own laundry)
3. Pork and Rice - Honestly, to all my aunts who were shaking their heads, I REALLY do cook dinner each night. It may not be gourmet, but it is consistent. I just went for the laughs!
4. Personality - Humour, personality, all round "good sport" ....he has it all.
Doug commented on how he thought the weekend was an example of "true Canadiana". A big prairie family enjoying being together through relationship, food, sports, fun. He said it was like a big social experiment! He also loved all the farm land. For me, I truly enjoyed the weekend, especially time with my cousins. As Doug and I are both shift workers and always work weekends, we often miss out on family functions.
I am so proud of our large family and our love and support of one another. I am most grateful for our Christian heritage and how our Lord has BLESSED and influenced each and every one of our lives.
Thanks again to Heather for all of the organizing!
Love, Rhonda
P.S. Rose and Jeremy....you really did have a beautiful wedding, even if it did rain a little....there......better choice of words!

Hey Ronnie - welcome to the blog
Glad to hear that Doug didn't think we were just a bunch of whacko's (or if he did that he had the decency to keep that comment to himself). Thanks for being such great sports with the newlywed game. I guess your dis'ing our "unique" wedding brings us even for me forcing you to play the game. Of course I still plan to take you up on that horseback riding offer next time we swing by Merritt.

PS I'm flying to Calgary on Westjet tomorrow (sorry) so I will try to work in a disparaging comment about their denim uniforms out of respect for my favorite flight attendant
Rhonda,
I ditto your comments about the reunion, especially time with the cousins. However,I'm sticking to my answers on the newlywed game since we would have won if Dan had remembered his favorite food is tacos.
Doug must be right that it was an example of "true Canadiana" because my children have been speaking with Canadian accents since we got back.
By the way, did you get my e-mail about Bronco tickets? If you tried I hope you had better luck than I did.

Hey Rhonda, You finally made it on here! I'm glad to hear that you and Doug worked out the 'marriage thing' and are working on better communication!!(Ha,Ha) HB
Hi Rhonda,
Tell Doug that psychological training is over-rated. But come to the Drum anytime and Sheila and I, as raining champs, would be happy to give some insight!
