Merry Christmas from Paul & Lee

Dear Family & Friends,
It is hard to believe that 2012 will soon be history, even though it was rather an uneventful year for us. We did take a trip to Arizona in February visiting with Cecil and Mary Ann in Casa Grande and Carol and Al in Mesa. I, (Lee) managed to pick up the flu bug along with an infection that lasted about seven months. Then Arthur-It-Is decided to pay a visit and forgot to leave. Since Paul was lucky enough not to get sick he inherited the job of “Bridget” the maid. He does pretty well except for the cooking which is not his forte, otherwise we are in fairly good health.
The highlight of the year was going to St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota to be with granddaughter Caitlin for their Family Weekend. St. Olaf has a beautiful campus and surrounding area. It was hard to see her go so far away from home but she was home for Thanksgiving and will be back for Christmas break. On our way to Minnesota, we stopped at Paulina, Iowa to visit with good friends, Opal & Dave Finley. On the way home, we stopped in Fridley, MN to visit with Dennis and Sharon Ruhnke (Dennis was Paul’s seminary roommate.) We had an enjoyable time with both couples.
The grandkids continue to be our joy and entertainment. Savannah, an 8th grader played on her school’s A volleyball team and will be heading to high school next fall. Jenny is a senior planning on college in the fall. She and her volleyball team were city, regional and Wyoming State Champions. She is also serving as the student manager of the girl’s basketball team. Cody likewise is a senior and besides his videography and unicycle, has been kept busy as a lifeguard and swimming instructor at Loveland’s municipal pool. He likewise is weighing his college choices. Caitlin as noted earlier is enjoying St. Olaf after graduating with honors in the spring. Annie is enjoying her sophomore year at Colorado State University and the house Mom and Dad provided for her. It’s hard to believe that next year we will have 4 of the 5 grandkids in college – how time flies.
We entertained the crew, including Bob & Deloris for Thanksgiving with a lot of help from Melody & Robin, Dan & Jeff and the grandkids who also put up the star, wreath, and lights on the roof so Grandpa wouldn’t climb up on the ladder.
Lord willing and weather permitting we plan to spend Christmas Day with Aunt Verna Lee in Colorado Springs. The kids and grandkids will be going to Pueblo to be with the other grandparents.
It is Paul’s year to “clutter” up the Christmas tree and house with memories (ornaments given by kids, grandkids, friends, and former parishioners) while I act as “straw boss” to make sure he does a good job.
We enjoy hearing from you as cards and e-mails make their way to our home & want to wish you God’s Richest Blessings in the coming year as we once again celebrate His Love in the gift of the Babe of Bethlehem, The Prince of Peace.

 Love,
                                                                                                                                                                                   Paul & Lee
