Greetings from the Tapeys in Evans;
Paul has put away his toy soldiers and military miniatures from the shelves in the basement Great Room( Lee calls it Paul’s Junk Room) and the shelves have been filled with our collection of Nativity sets... For us it celebrates the reign of the Prince of Peace and our prayer that some day soon all war and strife in this world will cease and be put away and Peace will reign... for that is the promise of the Christmas Child whose birth, life, death and resurrection we celebrate in this Holy Season and share his Love with you all.

It has been a good year for us here. Health is relatively good and over all we have had an enjoyable 12 months since we last shared with most of you.

The highlight of the year was our trip to Indiana. We celebrated the 4th of July as a family together and the next day we took off on a great adventure. The 4 middle of the 11 Snider Sisters, Lee, Elda, Esther, Alice and Husband Len along with Paul and his Brother Cecil and wife Mary Ann took off for an adventure in the Amish colony in Shipshewana. We toured the countryside, visited a huge flea market, ate in an Amish Home, took a buggy ride, visited an Amish Farm, attended a Blue Grass concert, and visited the Mennonite museum which told the story of the Anabaptist movement, of which they, the Amish and Hutterite are the remaining expressions of that part of Christianity. Cecil and Mary Ann’s son Matthew and wife Nicole joined us for the last two days. We had a great time going, being there and returning through the mid-west. Paul & Lee also enjoyed their visit from Trevor, Lynna and girls this year.

The other highlights in our lives revolve around the activities of 4 High School Grand kids and one precocious Pre-teen and their parents in Cheyenne and Loveland.
Annie, the oldest and a junior in Cheyenne East High School, had a marvelous trip with her English Literature Teacher and classmates to Merry Old England attending a Shakespeare production in the Globe and other adventures. She continues her guitar and was Co-captain and back up setter for the Varsity Volley Ball Team.

Caitlin continues to star with her music, being in a community talent show with her band, playing keyboard for both the youth and adult praise groups in Frontier Church and playing the all purpose Libero for the JV Girls Volley Ball team.

Jenny is our two sport athlete. She was cocaptain of the Freshman volley ball team and is playing basketball at the present time. She is also co- senior editor of her Junior High School newspaper.

Mom, Melody, moved up to teaching 4th graders this year.

Dad, Dan, continues to pastor the growing Cheyenne Frontier Church.

Up in Loveland, Cody who is Freshman at Thompson Valley High School continues to play his Saxophone in Concert Band, had a good Spring Track season in the middle distance races and Long Jump and a neat experience adding to his adventures in filming by attending a film camp last summer in which he got to look at filming behind and in front of the camera (He was star of his groups production).

Little Miss Dramatic- Savannah tries to keep up with her big brother and older cousins. She again played soccer in a more advanced league that covers most of this Northeastern part of Colorado. She also had the privilege of acting in her class’ production of a play based on the book Rikki Tikki Tembo in which she played the lead.

Robin keeps things humming at Grace Community as the office admin and keeps things humming at the Storm household.

Jeff is now the Art director for Group magazine, the nation wide non-denominational youth publication of Group. Besides designing the youth LIVE Bible he authored and designed a youth study book –STRIPPED CLEAN– Down To Nothing But The Cross.

One of the fun things we have done and are doing with the grand kids is taking one or two of them with us when we go to a local musical dinner theater for such productions as the Wizard of Oz and The Phantom.

The whole crew plus Paul’s sister Deloris and husband Bob was here for the Thanksgiving weekend, enjoyed the feast and everyone got into the act of putting the Christmas lights on the roof line to keep Paul off the ladder and roof.

There was one sadness in the year when Paul’s boyhood hero and the last of his parent’s generation-- his Uncle Virgil Corum passed away in September. Paul officiated at the funeral.

Otherwise things for Lee and Paul are pretty much the same. Paul does a little pulpit supply in Evans and churches around and still does weekly Hospital calling.

Lee is happy with the thought that this is the first year in now near 50 years that she got to decorate in style the Christmas tree (not Paul’s usual clutter of memory
ornaments). As she says –“She did it Her way!” Paul’s pouting but he’s O.K. with it.

We are looking forward to next year as the number 50 is going to be celebrated on several occasions...It’s Paul’s 50th anniversary of seminary graduation, ordination and first Church appointment and of course the big FIVE O is the celebration of our marriage in October.

We want to wish you all a Joyous Christmas May His Love and Peace
surround you as we again celebrate our Lord’s Birth.

Love, Paul and Leone.
