ENGAGED!My fabulous younger sister Jalen (Daughter to Dale - Grandchild #2 to Elda) is engaged to be married to Kyle Dyck of Kelowna, BC. Kyle and Jalen met at Bridal - er - BIBLE College in Calgary, AB - and are tying the knot on September 13th of this year. Kyle is a wonderful addition to the family and we are thrilled for both of them! Jalen is in her second year at Ambrose University College in the English Literature program and is working towards a career in teaching. Kyle will be finishing his schooling at AUC this semester and they will be heading to Yarrow Alliance (outside of Chilliwack) in January '09 where he will begin in ministry as a Youth Pastor. Congratulations to Jay and Kyle!
Also, I thought it would be important to acknowledge the fact that yes, Kyle has the same last name as Dave and I - and just to clarify - THERE IS NO RELATION! Just two sisters marrying 2 unrelated men with the exact same last name. I know - it's kind of ridiculous - but atleast we'll have the same name again! haha.
Dave and I are doing really well - we have been blessed with close friends and family and great jobs here in Tsawwassen. We so enjoyed our time at the reunion and getting to see all of our Snider Family. Dave couldn't believe the closeness of our extended family - And how many of us there are! We look forward to the next one - Summer 2012? I suppose it's up to the 3
rd generation this time to plan it

Congratulations Jalen and Kyle - it's great to watch this family grow! We wish you all the best as you plan for life together! Glad that things are going well for you Whitney and Dave - it was great to get caught up with you at the reunion and we look forward to attending the one that you are planning for 2012! Perhaps some of the rest of the third generation on this side of the mountains will step up to help! Congratulations on the engagement Jalen and Kyle. By the way the whole sisters marrying unrelated guys with the same last name has been done before (Carol and Joyce did it back in the 60's). Its getting harder and harder to pull off anything original in this family.

Congratulations Jalen & Kyle. It is exciting to see how the Snider clans expands its borders by integrating great men and women through marriage. We plan to be there in 2012. (Yikes, what colour will our hair be then?)
