Well, I guess I had to give up my title as "Ice Cream Queen" this year to my younger brother. He won the contest with his Cinammon Praline ice cream. Unfortunately, my strawberry cheesecake ice cream didn't set well until the next day. It must have been the ice cream machine's fault!! Anyways, here I am handing over the "Golden Scoop" to Trevor. (Yes, we actually have an official 'engraved' scoop- thanks to brother Doug. This contest was his idea a few years ago and has been fun and tasty ever since. I believe his family's ice cream came in second, so the boys really showed us girls up this year).
P.S. I did make some dandy perogies, however, with Val's recipe from the Snider Cookbook

Glad to see you on the blog!! Check with your in-laws to see the Snider cookbook that we made up for the reunion. It has many 'German' recipes handed down through the generations in the Sndier family. Maybe Ruth can make you a copy if you are interested. I believe Brad's grandparents also have one. Heather
